Why does Everee use less soluble collagen?
Because it works better. The Ovitage® collagen in Everee is made of a wider range of amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) than regular collagens. Some of these extra amino acids form peptides that are not very soluble, especially in aqueous liquids. However, they are also very powerful in the body, performing functions such as supporting muscle growth and maintenance, boosting the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant systems in the body, and promoting collagen production in skin and hair.
Is Everee suitable for vegans/vegetarians?
No, as it is derived from ovine (sheep).
Can I take Everee if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
There are increased protein requirements during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so taking Everee is a convenient way to boost your intake. If you have any doubts, check with your healthcare professional.
How do I choose the right Everee for me?
You could try our questionnaire! Generally, the Everee for you will be determined by the stage of your life, as it is formulated with those demands in mind. However, if you have specific needs that usually occur at earlier or later stages, another Everee may be beneficial.
Can I mix Everee with anything (e.g., smoothies, coffee, water)?
You can, and people do all of those as Ovitage® is heat stable unlike most other collagen supplements. Smoothies are always a good choice to improve the palatability.
How long do I need to take Everee to notice benefits?
Some people notice a positive difference very quickly, within weeks. It depends on the benefit you are talking about. For a biological effect such as improvement in skin quality or decreased hair thinning, we expect it to take around 4 weeks. But everyone is different! Everee is protein, so you may notice some differences in your digestion, such as frequency of bowel movements, if your protein intake increases.
Is it okay to switch between different Everee products?
Absolutely. Even though Everee is designed with specific stages in mind, everyone is unique, which means there are benefits to using other Everee products. For example, if you have joint issues and are pre- or peri-menopausal, you could use Everee #5.
Can I take Everee alongside other supplements or medications?
The simple answer is yes, there is no reason to think it will be a problem. There have been concerns raised about some proteins, such as whey powder protein, interacting with certain drugs like Lexapro (mostly linked to the amino acid tryptophan, which is not found in Everee) but these findings are not consistent. If you are concerned that it may affect medications such as antibiotics, you can take Everee 4-6 hours before taking the antibiotics or 2 hours after. If in doubt, contact your health care provider.
Are there any side effects or things I should be aware of?
Everee is protein, so you may notice some differences in your digestion, such as frequency of bowel movements, if your protein intake increases.
Does it matter what time of day I take Everee?
It doesn’t matter; whatever suits your lifestyle is best. By taking it at the same time every day, it’s easier to get into a routine, but it really doesn’t matter.
Why does Everee taste stronger than other collagen products?
Everee contains Ovitage®, which is a special collagen that contains peptides made up of a wider range of amino acids. These extra amino acids include branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), which tend to have a bitter taste. In addition, some Everees (#4 and #5) contain ingredients that are themselves quite bitter or astringent. But don’t worry, you can add Everee to a wide range of foods and drinks (see our recipe page for suggestions) and adjust the taste to whatever suits your palate.
