Real Science & Real Results - How It Does It
Everee Women™ #4 contains Ovitage® the world’s most complete collagen derived from whole ovine skin and produced using a proprietary process that isolates all of the skin's important components, including structural proteins well beyond the collagen I and III common in traditional collagen products. This functionality is boosted by the clinically proven cGP-Pro, a cyclic glycine-proline complex extracted from New Zealand blackcurrant and stabilised by collagen. The result is a protein powder rich in specific amino acids ideally suited to boost the body’s ability to deal with the challenges of post-menopause, from brain function to metabolic health and muscle maintenance
Muscle Maintenance
Muscle mass is harder to retain as we age. Branched-chain amino acids such as isoleucine, leucine and valine are essential for building lean body mass (1), with leucine of particular importance for ageing females (2). Ovitage® in Everee Women™ #4 provides approximately 3x more of these crucial amino acids than traditional collagen and as a result assists in retaining muscle mass. In addition, high cystine proteins have demonstrated the ability to contribute further to lean body mass. Studies have shown a substantial increase in lean body mass as a result of a high cystine protein diet, compared to a dairy protein control (3). Ovitage® contains substantially higher cystine that conventional collagen and so supports this lean muscle development.
Cognitive Support
Ovitage® in Everee Women™ #4 is rich in glutamic acid, a form of glutamate and the most abundant transmitter in the nervous system. Glutamate is essential for healthy brain function and cognitive performance (4, 5). The impact of hormonal changes on this essential neurotransmitter have been reported in menopausal studies and good levels of glutamic acid from protein help maintain the appropriate balance of glutamate to boost brain function cognition and GABA for calming and anxiety relief (6).
Cyclic glycine-proline (cGP-Pro) in Everee 4 has been shown to improve brain function in patients suffering Parkinsons disease. cGP-Pro normalises Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) a hormone that is responsible for brain development, memory and cognition, metabolism, and recovery from brain injury (7). The function of IGF-1 starts to decline around 45 years of age, and IGF-1 deficiency is closely related to the onset and progression of age-related neurodegenerative conditions. In response to declining IGF-1, the body’s demand for cGP increases and studies show cGP-Pro addresses this demand and so improves IGF-1 availability.
Metabolic Health
Recent clinical trials on high cysteine proteins have shown significant impact on glucose clearance rates in type 2 diabetic patients (8) as well as improving insulin sensitivity. This is based on the impact of cysteine on metabolic pathways involving glutathione and other sulfur based amino acids. Ovitage® in Everee 4 has substantially higher cysteine than any other collagen and provides the essential amino acids for this proven mechanism for controlling glucose metabolism related to weight management and metabolic health.
Further, published studies on the mechanism of cyclic glycine-proline found in cGP-Pro provide further support for Everee Women™ #4 contributing to insulin management and metabolic health by controlling IGF-1 and its metabolite IGFBP-3 (9).
Heart Health
The cyclic glycine-proline found in the cGP-Pro of Everee 4 reduces blood pressure and improves diabetic peripheral neuropathy as a result of improving IGF-1 levels (10). The role of IGF-1 in microvascularisation is well established, and the improvement in blood flow resulting from improved vascular flow, in particular around the brain, further reduces the impact of blood pressure and improves overall cardiac health.
Dosage
Recommended daily dose of Everee 4 is 7.5g. Traditional collagens are established as effective in the range 2.5-15g (11) with 15g effective for improving lean body mass in women. The multiplying impact of the high cystine component of Everee Women™ #4 is to stimulate greater protein synthesis (12), providing effectiveness at the lower dosage range compared to conventional collagen. Each dose contains 100mg of cGP-Pro, the therapeutic dose of cyclic glycine-proline proven in clinical trials (7).
