Skin Structure and Hair Health
Collagen IV is the junctional protein responsible for joining the layers of the skin together and acting in each hair follicle to anchor hair on the scalp. As a whole skin extract, Everee Women™ #3 contains this important collagen type. In addition, cystine-rich proteins found in Everee Women™ #3 have been shown to increase Collagen IV production in the skin and hair follicles, improving skin firmness and follicle health, which can strengthen hair anchoring and reduce hair loss (4).
Due to the Ovitage® technology, Everee Women™ #3 has substantially greater amounts of cystine than any other collagen or common dietary protein sources, such as whey or soy.

Leaky Gut and Gut Health
Dropping oestrogen levels associated with peri-menopause reduce the body's ability to produce specific collagens, meaning intestinal membranes (in particular) may weaken as a result. This leads to "leaky gut."
What is leaky gut? Well, it's less about things leaking out through your intestine into your gut and more about the intestinal membranes letting through more than just water and nutrients. Toxins like bacteria and other harmful substances absorbed through a weak intestinal lining can increase inflammation throughout the body, with resultant symptoms including fatigue and other chronic conditions.
It is important to note that leaky gut is not a "thing" that you can be diagnosed with. What is known is that some chronic diseases are associated with intestinal permeability.
That doesn't matter when you are experiencing peri-menopause because some of the symptoms commonly associated with leaky gut are also some of the symptoms of peri-menopause! We're talking bloating, food sensitivities, indigestion, and abdominal pain. And let's not forget about constipation and diarrhoea.
What we can do is improve the gut microbiome (all the good bacteria and other organisms that make for a really good environment in your digestive system) and strengthen the lining of your gut.

So, how does Everee Women™ #3 help?
High cystine proteins have been shown to boost production of membrane proteins collagen IV and collagen VII (7), helping reduce the potential for intestinal permeability.
Everee Women™ #3 has substantially higher cystine than traditional collagens.
In addition to the cystine presence, the nutrient-rich golden kiwifruit extract Livaux® has been demonstrated to boost the levels of the gut microbe F. prausnitzii (12). This microbe has a range of important functions, including maintaining gut barrier function and reducing inflammation.
That means your gut microbiome is getting back in balance.

Skin Inflammation
Skin stress during menopause arises from hormonal changes as well as oxidative stress from diet and environmental factors. This can lead to skin inflammation and redness.
High cystine proteins have been shown to significantly boost the body's production of taurine and glutathione (1).
Taurine produced by the body is key to anti-inflammatory activity through the taurine chloramine pathway (2). Cystine present in Everee Women™ #3 helps boost this taurine pathway, increasing the ability of the body to fight skin inflammation.
Glutathione is known as an important antioxidant produced within skin cells to combat oxidative stress (3). Glutathione production requires cystine, and boosting this pathway with high cystine protein specifically combats skin oxidative stress.
We also know that a more balanced gut microbiome results in better-looking skin. Or, to quote the Livaux research: "Precise targeting of F. prausnitzii with Livaux® may help to reestablish a healthy interaction between the gut and the skin."

Cognitive Performance
Glutamic acid is a form of glutamate, the most abundant transmitter in the nervous system and essential for healthy brain function and cognitive performance (8, 9). The impact of hormonal changes on this essential neurotransmitter has been reported in menopausal studies, and good levels of glutamic acid from protein help maintain the appropriate balance of glutamate to boost brain function, cognition, and GABA for calming and anxiety relief (10).
Everee Women™ #3 boasts over 13% Glutamic Acid content, significantly higher than other collagens and contributing towards the glutamate balance.

Stress and Mood
Studies directly show that increasing tyrosine through short-term or long-term protein ingestion raises brain tyrosine levels and boosts dopamine (and other catecholamine neurohormones, which are important in stress responses) production, specifically targeted at actively firing neurons (11).
With substantially higher tyrosine than traditional collagen, Everee Women™ #3 provides the key building blocks for dopamine production and, therefore, stress and mood control.
